BELLA
The Kerouacs are adventure-seeking lovers of living life. After a lifetime of living a typical life, working typical jobs, and partaking in typical experiences, they decided they were meant for more. After spending seven years building an off-grid homestead, they could no longer ignore the hunger and drive to experiance even more: more time with family and friends, more beautiful locations, and more new adventures. With a passion for sharing
what excites them and a gift for gab, they decided a podcast would be a great way to share what they love, their travels, and the headaches and hardships of learning this new way of life with the world. Join James and Cara as they navigate married life, road-tripping around the beautiful USA, and finding remote places to camp and hike with their three dogs, Jewels, Bella, and Norman.
JAMES KEROUAC
James was a fast-food manager for 30 years who became a minimalist off-grider; finding freedom and time. He loved that for seven years and is now turning his life to a freedom-loving traveling podcaster, finding the joy of life. His son is having a son, and James is excited to take advantage of the opportunity of being a grandfather to begin the next chapter of his journey.
CARA KEROUAC
Cara was a self-proclaimed party girl who has transmuted into a modern-day hippy. Traveling, exploring new locations, devouring unique food combinations, and laughing with good friends drive her. She has a profound appreciation for the awe and beauty of nature and finds herself most at home when submerged in the great outdoors. She deeply loves the people who have helped her become the person she is today, her furbabies and the love of her life, James.
BELLA
Baby Bella is Jewels's Baby. She is very docile and is confident there is no such thing as enough pats. She loves hunting with her mama and receiving all of the attention.
JEWELS
Mama Jewels is the oldest of the Kerouac Furbabies. She is sassy and is not afraid to tell you what she wants. She loves swimming, sniffing for sniffs, and snuggling in bed.
NORMAN
Stormin' Norman is youngest by 7 years; what he lacks in age, he makes up for in confidence. He deeply appreciates the freedom to run and warm sunny days.
